The Chamber Concerts of the State Orchestra of Lower Saxony enjoy a wonderful, long-standing tradition: Initially established as quartet concerts more than 150 years ago by Konzertmeister Joseph Joachim, they are still very a popular concert series today. In 2020/21, various ensembles will play their chosen programmes at 11.00h on eight different Sundays throughout the season. The venue is the Lecture Hall of the Landesmuseum Hannover.
Chamber Concerts at the Landesmuseum
Interventions at the Sprengel Museum
This series of concerts by the State Opera at the Sprengel Museum is a brand-new format. On three dates of the season, the museum for international contemporary art will become a venue for experimentation: Together, singers from the ensemble and members of the State Orchestra will present chamber music with vocals and discover correspondences between visual art, text and music, mutual references between sound and space.
Hanover’s festival for contemporary music had to be cancelled in April 2020. The programme that had already been announced has been postponed to 2021.
In cooperation with Musik 21 Niedersachsen, Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien, Sprengel Museum and independent companies from Hanover.
