The choir group of the association Can Arkadas e.V. and the children’s choir of the State Opera Hanover
The choir group of the association Can Arkadas e.V., directed by Ugur Durmus, and the children’s choir of the State Opera, directed by Tatiana Bergh, invite you to join them for a sing-along concert at the Opera House. The State Opera’s children’s choir was founded around 50 years ago, its members are children from 16 nationalities between the ages of 5 and 16 years. Children’s singing is a component of many operas, as intended by their composers. In order for these singing parts to be adequately cast, the children are prepared and taught in regular lessons. The choir group “Can Arkadaş Türkü Dostlar Korosu” mainly consists of older people. The choir has been meeting weekly for more than six years and shares the joy of singing together; they mainly sing Anatolian folk music. The main purpose is to be together, to have fun and – of course – to enjoy the music.

Turkish songs with Ayda Kirci
This workshop will not only allow us to immerse ourselves in the Turkish language, it will also show us the profundity of Anatolian Türkü-music. Ayda Kirci will sing Turkish folk songs with the audience, allowing them to feel and experience its depth. Helge Adam on the piano and Kaveh Madadi on percussion will provide the musical accompaniment of the workshop.
