Overview
Traditional Turkish singing and Middle-Eastern strings meet indie, surf rock and post punk. Rave reviews in media including the New York Times describe Gaye Su Akyol as “Turkish rock music’s biggest hope”, saying that her music connects with 1970s psychedelic music in Turkey and with folk icons like Selda Bağcan, IggyPop said that Akyol’s music is “by far more fulfilling than any popular music from the exhausted West today”.
