Overview
She is Cape Verde's best-known musician: The charismatic singer Lura combines an enormously danceable, rhythmic sound with deeply touching melodies. She performed on stage with the grand dame of Cape Verdean music, Cesária Évora, and the song "Moda Bô", which they recorded together, became an international hit. The singer with the warm, expressive voice has already presented her new album Multicolor, released in 2023, in sold-out concerts at venues such as the Coliseu in Lisbon and the Olympia in Paris. Driven by her three-piece band (guitar, bass, drums), Lura continues to inspire audiences at her concerts this year by transporting the diverse Creole-Portuguese-African influences of her songs into the present day without losing her musical roots.
